Ciarán Byrne
Ciarán Byrne is the Founder of TriBreathe. As a former competitive athlete and coach, he possesses a profound understanding of the miraculous adaptability of the human body. Ciarán has always been captivated by the fundamentals that contribute to exceptional performance, which initially led him to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Sport and Exercise Science, followed by a Master's in Physiology.
During this educational journey, he was fortunate to encounter Patrick McKeown, the founder of the Oxygen Advantage™ methodology and a globally recognized expert in breathwork. To his astonishment, despite his extensive studies in physiology, Ciarán had never encountered the breathing techniques and practices advocated by Patrick.
After establishing a career in the healthcare sector, Ciarán returned to his "natural home"—the realm of total human performance. He trained extensively and became certified as an Advanced Instructor in the Oxygen Advantage™ methodology. The underlying science and foundational techniques of breathwork are crucial to all aspects of performance, including training, recovery, and efficiency. Breathing also influences psychology through deeply engrained human responses such as ‘fight or flight’ and ‘rest and digest’.
Breathing has long been overshadowed in the performance domain, but a renaissance is currently underway. Ciarán is thrilled to leverage his deep health and performance expertise to help athletes and sports participants unlock their incredible potential. As a lifelong learner, he is also nearing the completion of a Master's in Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology, integrating principles from this field to provide optimal support for athletes on their journeys.
