These programs are for any endurance athlete interested in learning about ways breath science and functional breathing can help improve performance efficiency, or components of health and wellbeing related to functional breathing - such as sleep, and exercise induced bronchoconstriction/asthma.

What are some performance areas this program can help with?

These programs can help improve exercise efficiency and economy for activities such as cycling and running i.e. lower breath rate for same work/activity. These programs can help activate and train respiratory muscles to support endurance performance.

What are some wellbeing benefits associated with these programs?

The programs include information on ways to optimize sleep and ways to reduce the risk of acute or chronic health issues associated with dysfunctional breathing.

What component parts make up a typical program?

Similar to other exercise programs, there may be a case history discussion, breathing assessments, goalsetting discussion, review of the science, selection and practice of key breathing exercises, and follow up to check and measure progress.

Who are these programs not suitable for?

Athletes who are pregnant, or have high blood pressure, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, or seizure disorders. As with any new exercise program we suggest consulting your doctor prior to beginning.

How many sessions will it take to learn about, practice, and incorporate the breathing exercises and activities into my daily living / training program?

Information about, and practice of the exercises can typically be completed in 2-3 sessions. These session can help lay foundations for future practice and integration into training and daily living. Training adaptations vary based on the athlete and the intensity and duration of application. Similar to other exercise programs, both short and long-term benefits can be observed over time.
